How I work on the web
My key drivers when working on web sites are usability, accessibility and effective content. Obviously a good design goes without saying, but to create that great user experience on the web, all these fundamentals need to combine.
I've been working in the web environment since 1995, creating web sites and running and managing web sites and Content Management Systems (CMS), predominantly in the University sector. This has given me a wealth of experience in knowing what works and what doesn't on web sites.
I hand code HTML and CSS, ensuring that it meets W3C web standards. My pages are accessible (following WCAG 1 & 2 guidelines), so that they are suitable for all internet users. Following these standards is important, as it means that web sites will display properly in all web browsers and that they will be easier to update and maintain in the future.

How I play on the web
I figure there are enough blogs to keep up with out there, so book leaves just carries my thoughts on the books I'm reading, to help me remember what I liked or didn't like. So it's principally for me, but feel free to add a comment if you'd like to!
